About these terms
These terms describe how website work with Garðar is carried out. They apply to projects agreed through gardarvefur.is, by email or by phone.
They are written in plain language and describe how I work. They do not replace a written contract for larger projects.
The service
I design and build websites for businesses and sole traders. The work covers design, build and getting the site live.
What is included at each price is listed on the services page. If a project needs more than that, we agree on it before the work starts.
Quotes and pricing
The prices shown on the site are starting prices. The final price depends on scope and is confirmed before work begins.
Once a price is confirmed it holds, unless you ask for additions that were not part of the original agreement. In that case we discuss the cost first.
Payment
Half is paid on ordering and the remainder when the site goes live.
The free homepage preview is not invoiced and carries no obligation.
Content from you
You provide the text, images, pricing, opening hours and any other content that is to appear on the site.
You are responsible for having the right to use the material you send me, including photographs and trade marks.
Review and changes
You review the site before it goes live and we make the corrections that reasonably belong to the project.
If a completely new design is requested after a design has been approved, that counts as a new project.
Delivery
Most one page sites are ready in about a week from the point where content and information have been received.
The timeline depends on how quickly content arrives and how quickly the review is completed.
Domains and third party services
You own your own domain and pay the annual fee for it directly to the registrar. I help with the setup.
Sites are hosted with Netlify. If a project uses a booking system, a map service or another external service, that part is covered by those providers' own terms.
Maintenance
Maintenance is optional and costs 7,500 ISK a month. There is no lock in and it can be stopped at any time.
It covers small changes, updates to text, prices, opening hours and photos, along with help when something needs fixing.
Intellectual property
Once the work has been paid in full you may use the site for your business without restriction.
I reserve the right to show the work in my portfolio unless we agree otherwise.
Cancellation
You can cancel a project at any time. Payment for work already carried out still applies.
If no work has been carried out, nothing is charged.
Responsibility
I am responsible for delivering the work that was agreed. I do not guarantee particular business results, sales figures or positions in search results.
I am not responsible for outages at external services such as the host or a booking system.
